Erika Dugas, cpdt-ka, akc cgcErika’s path to working with dogs unknowingly began 8 years ago when she adopted a dog with developing aggression issues. In the course of his rehabilitation she was introduced to the world of dog behavior. Her education came by way of hands on experience, multiple apprenticeships and self-education. She has her CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer Knowledge Assessed), is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), and is a certified AKC CGC (American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen) Evaluator. Erika worked at the RISPCA for 2 years teaching group classes for puppies and adults but now provides services to the shelter solely as a volunteer. Cooperation Canine was started with Heidi out of a shared mission. Keeping dogs in their homes. Providing in-home behavior and training services for all dogs, especially rescues and new puppies, is one way to accomplish that goal. She is currently living with three rescue dogs, one rescue ferret and an adopted mouse. Erika is focused on continuing her education by attending training and behavior workshops and conferences.
